2026 Member-Professional
The 1st Member-Professional was held recently, with the team of member David Parkes, PGA Professional Alex Cox, Tom Lathrop and Jake Stribling representing the Golf Club of Tennessee taking home this year’s title.
The field arrived on Sunday for practice rounds and dinner at the Pavilion. Play began on Monday with a unique format using a modified Stableford scoring system that featured 2-man teams representing their Club competing in Gross and Net best-balls, along with a 9-hole scramble. Everyone gathered at the Party Barn that evening for dinner and to plot a strategy towards bringing home the Long Barn trophies.
The tournament concluded on Tuesday with 18 more holes of best-ball competitions, and when play had finished the Golf Club of Tennessee edged out a 1-point victory over the team from Oceanside Country Club represented by Luke Haber, PGA Professional Dan Gage, Matt Hewitt and Tom Upchurch.
In the Professional division, Casey Flenniken of Tellico Village and Camden Jones of The Cliffs shared low-professional honors with a two-day total of 72 points, while three other PGA Professionals shared 3rd just 1 point behind – Gage, Cox, and host Professional Bruce Bowen.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make our 1st Member-Professional such a successful one. You each laid the groundwork for what promises to be one of the Club’s premier and fun events each season. I hope to see you at the Club soon.
