Gain practical experience in farm-to-table crop production, landscaping, floriculture, fruit-tree care and beekeeping within an exceptional private-club environment.

Learn how horticulture supports dining, hospitality, landscape beauty and the overall member experience.
The Olde Farm is an exclusive private golf club in Bristol, Virginia, featuring approximately one acre of vegetable and flower gardens.
Produce cultivated on the property supports the Club’s gourmet farm-to-table dining experience, while fruit trees, flowers and honey produced from the Club’s beehives contribute to the character of the property.
Interns work side by side with the Horticulturist and participate directly in gardening, landscaping, harvesting, beekeeping, floriculture and seasonal production.
Farm to Table

The internship provides exposure to the complete process of cultivating edible crops, maintaining ornamental spaces and supporting the Club’s culinary and hospitality programs.
Assist with crop planning, soil preparation, propagation, planting and seasonal scheduling.
Support watering, pruning, cultivation, plant health and routine garden maintenance.
Harvest fresh ingredients and coordinate seasonal availability with the culinary team.
Learn how flowers, produce and maintained landscapes contribute to member dining and special events.
Areas of Experience
Develop a broad horticultural skill set
Interns participate in multiple areas of the horticulture operation rather than focusing on a single crop or discipline.
Crop Production
Assist with planning, planting, cultivating and maintaining vegetables, herbs and other edible crops.
Harvesting
Learn appropriate harvest timing, product handling and coordination with the culinary operation.
Floriculture
Cultivate flowers for gardens, property displays, arrangements and seasonal presentations.
Landscaping
Support the installation, care and presentation of landscaped spaces throughout the property.
Beekeeping
Gain exposure to hive care, pollination, honey production and the role of bees within the garden ecosystem.
Fruit Trees
Assist with seasonal fruit-tree care, pruning, maintenance and harvesting.
The Summer Experience
Follow the growing season from May through August
The program is timed to give interns meaningful exposure to planting, maintenance, production and summer harvesting.
Establish
Prepare growing areas, transplant crops and establish seasonal garden displays.
Cultivate
Maintain crops and landscapes through watering, pruning, weeding and plant-health practices.
Harvest
Collect vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit and honey as they reach seasonal maturity.
Evaluate
Assess results, maintain records and prepare crops and spaces for the next stage of the season.

Program Details
A paid, full-time summer internship
The program is structured to provide practical support, meaningful responsibility and direct access to the Club’s professional horticulture operation.
Hourly Pay
Interns receive hourly compensation throughout the program.
Full-Time Hours
The internship is a full-time seasonal position.
Flexible Schedule
Hours remain flexible to meet seasonal and operational needs.
On-Site Housing
Housing is provided for participating interns.
May–August
The program runs through the primary summer growing season.

Curious, dependable and ready to work outdoors
The strongest candidates have an interest in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, landscape management or a related area of study.
Applicants should be prepared for active outdoor work, changing weather and the physical demands of maintaining gardens and landscapes during the summer season.
